Turkeys For 2013

I was asking my DH last night if we could list some of them for sale on some of my fb pages or if he wanted to take them to auction. I guess he wants to think it over a bit. But I sure don't want to feed all 7 of them plus 8-10 more! What would you do with all the toms? They are only 4 months old.
Chickadoodles,

could you post pictures of your BB's? I have 15 BBB's and mine are also 4 months. I've never had them before, so I'd like to see what someone else's look like. Thanks!

Ask a good price for them-- don't throw your money away. Auctions are notorious for very low prices. Useful as a last resort. Craigs List is a good place, too. Start high, and come down if they don't move. In my experience, making back the money spent on feed is difficult.

Selling as young poults is the easiest. LEt the buyer put the money into the feeding.

Just my 2 cents.
I sure agree with that, been my experience too, even though I try!

Been up all night, we lost power due to the thunderstorms. I am just sick over it. Carried the incubators to the truck to keep them warm, the inverter won't support all of them. We have a generator thing that would not start. Battery backup failed in 2 hours. I have 3 full of geese duck quail turkey and guinea.. oh my

over 200 birds! I buried the bators in blankets, and I hope it didn't harm my chicks. We were without power about 5 hours

Just sick over it, we had all the right stuff, but most of it failed. Ugh! I feel so hopeless, you do all the planning and it doesn't work when you need it.

Is there any hope for the eggs or have I just lost all of my babies?

Not certain if this is the appropriate place for this, I'm new, but question follows:

I just got my very first batch of turkeys. Bourbon reds with possibly one or two bronzes. three-four weeks old, 14 of them a few days ago...

Two days ago I let them all outside into a little yard around their coop only one wasn't as eager to go outside. Should have been a red flag but I just figured it was being a dope.

Then, yesterday morning, the same (I presume) bird was lying listlessly under the heat lamp, didn't particularly struggle when I went to grab it and was making this weird hiccup-y coughing sound. I put some vitamins in the water and intended to go back in the afternoon with some herbal tea and an essential oil mixture my friend uses on her chickens - only the bird was dead as a doornail.

All my others look bright and shiny, but this happened so quick, any idea what it could be?

Thanks a lot!!
