Turkeys For 2013

Just wanted to see if anyone is in PA and if they would have any hens for sale. I have a friend looking for some hens for his Tom. Breed is not a big issue. His Tom is lonely! Thanks!

My turkeys finally came out of rigor and are now in the freezer. I had to freeze the Thanksgiving bird, too. I will pull it out on Monday or Tuesday to thaw some and then brine for 24hrs. I am actually quite thrilled with the idea of eating my own, home raised birds. I will be doing it again next year as long as this one tastes good. I found a cheaper place to get BBBs and BBWs cheaper than I paid this year. I will have my pen set up by then, so I'm excited!
