OK, so I got some eggs from a neighbor. This guy wanted a dozen hatching eggs....from my chickens, so he gave me 6 turkey eggs. He has running together Royal Palms, and Blue Slates. One of my eggs hatched this afternoon....and the baby is Black??I mean, coal black! Im not getting this genetics stuff. Can anyone help!?? As soon as it dries out, I will post a pic. 2 more are hatching now...I cant waite to see thier color. Oh, and this same neighbor....gave me a poult...one day old. Only 3 hatched out of his set...and 2 didnt make it. He didn't want to " mess with one turkey poult" So, I have it in with a chick, and its doing fine.
Its grey...so im thinking a blue slate.
