We have 5 Pencilled Palm turkeys. 3 hens and 2 toms. The crazy things will not go to their pen where there are shavings, food and water and shelter. I cannot herd them (tried numerous times) and they are already roosting in a big tree beside the house when I get home from work. I am worried with the temperatures, sleet and snow, that I am going to go out to turkey popsicles. Can anyone advise me if I need to be worried?

LOL, this totally made me laugh.. We have had several turkeys that will not even go close to the coop/barn but prefer to roost on the tallest surface they could find. Sometimes the trees, sometimes the roof top. They were always fine and found shelter if they wanted it.

Thanks, that makes me feel better about them. It is sleeting out tonight and I went out and felt the feet of one of the toms that I could reach and he was just as warm as he could be. Interesting how they know what to do and how to take care of themselves.
