Best post ever!!Hello there!
Welcome to BYC...
I have had guineas and turkeys together, if you think the turkeys and guineas will hang together. I think you are in error. Mine shared a coop with the chickens sometimes.
I was actually relieved the turkeys did not hang with the guineas.......Guineas are not birds....Guineas are juvenile delinquent drug pushing. liquor store robbing gangsters of the bird world.
They chase around at speeds the turkeys just cannot match. Think of turkeys as big friendly feathered labs..... Guineas do not develop relationships like turkeys do...
Don't get me wrong loved my guineas, but what parent doesn't love their kid, even if they are in prison for tripping old ladies...
All heritage turkeys fly, however, their flying becomes less as they age.
My professional opinion is wait and see what happens, I think you will be happy if they don't hang together...I have always free ranged all my birds so if you have them fenced in I have no idea how things would be..
Also Turkeys seem to like to hang within 30 ft of the deck off the house here......Guineas seem to like to hang on the edge of the rood 200 yards away lying in wait for the next Brink's truck to come by so they can rob it...
Welcome to BYC
Love your description of guineas....dead-on, I use to raise the little hoolagans, too!Hello there!

I would still have them, BUT I got a new neighbor across the road, they got chickens. My guineas loved visiting their chickens and chasing them.......
The neighbors were real sticks in the mud and failed to see the humor in this.....
Also the USDA Vet said if I did not lock them up and they continued to visit the neighbors chickens I would lose my NPIP certification.....Since Guineas do not do well in prison, even though I constructed a large Guinea Gulag, I decided to do the next best thing so I ate them, before they could eat us.
