So I have a Bronze broad-breasted turkey hen that won't stand up. I checked her foot for some swelling but no sign of bumble foot. I have sprayed her foot with antibacterial and have separated her from the flock. It's been 3 days and she won't stand up and I'm torn whether or not to take her to the vet being she's a meat bird after all. Any thoughts?

The problem is more likely to be in the hip or hock.

What is the age and weight of the turkey?

3 months old. She might have gotten a sticker in her foot but I don't see a sore forming. She could have gotten stepped on because we have 25 birds that swarm when feeding.

At 3 months old, hip or hock problems are not unusual with broad breasted turkeys. Heart problems are also not uncommon.

If you are having feeding issues you need to feed in more places so everyone isn't crowding into one feeder.

I don't have those issues because my turkeys have access to their feed at all times.
