Greetings. My family and I have to leave town unexpectedly for three days and I can't find anyone to turn my turkey eggs. I have 29 in the incubator, so I am not using my turner as it holds only 18-19. I've been turning them regularly since I set them, and I will be able to turn them once or twice on the fifth day of incubation and then will not be able to turn for about 54 hours. Has anyone recorded any results from failure to turn on days 5-8 of turkey incubation (28 day cycle) or days 4-6 of chicken incubation?

Or would it be better to move some of my clutch to the hatcher and take a chance with the slightly lower temperatures (there are eggs in lockdown as well), and put 2/3 of them in the turner?

There are some that rarely turn and get favorable results. If it is something that causes a bit of paranoia, then put the additional eggs in the hatcher and the others in the turner, as suggested. That would be my vote, but wouldn't worry much about it. I down hens on a large clutch of eggs are able to turn all of them to the scientific degree that our turners do.
