Turning eggs questions

I'm working on a DIY incubator. Last year I hatched 50% of the eggs in a still air that I made, this time I'm adding a fan and turner. I do have questions as far as the turner goes.

1. Is the idea to have the fat end of the egg up?
2. And to turn it, it just needs to switch angles with the fat end still up?

I guess I'm just confused a bit since last year I had the eggs laying on their sides, like a hen would, and rolled the eggs 180 degrees 3-4 times a day. Thanks for any help.

You can hatch them on their sides or fat end up in a turner. Just don't put them pointy end up!
Yes, you tilt them from side to side, I believe at a 45* angle.
