ok i have heard diff things i have a homemade bator no turner so i turn them ok i hve them in an egg carton and turn them 4 times a day the opposite of what they where 6 hours before is that right and when they start pipping take them out and lay them flat on the bator shelf need input thanks

If you have them in an egg carton I believe that the corton is suposed to be set at an angle so that the eggs are not straight up and down and then turned either together in the carton to the opposite angle or ratate each egg 180 degrees. some people leave the eggs in the carton to hatch so that the eggs are not rolling around on the fllor but that is up too you. Good Luck.

so if i prop up one side of the cartonon a good angle then every 6 hours switch rotate the carton the opposite way

Seems to me that it would be easier to tilt the entire incubator by putting a piece of 2x4 under one end then moving it to the other end and vice-versa.

IF you find that this is a problem for the water (humidity) in the bottom of the incubator, I think you could put a couple of small kitchen sponges in the bottom to hold the moisture,

Done in the manner, you wouldn't need to open the incubator as much and would be more likely to have more stable temperature and humidity.

I haven't tried this, but others have and have reported good results.

I turn 3 times a day. Odd number of turns is what I have always done with great results! Early morning, 2 or 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. at night.
