I am new to Incubating and need some help. I purchased a little giant incubator without an egg turner. The instructions tell me to mark an x on one side of the egg and an O on the other side. They also say to turn eggs 3 times a day. Do they mean to turn them completly or make a 1/2 turn? I know this sounds silly, but I am new to this.

It means to start out on the X, then the next time turn it to the O and then the 3rd time back to the X...and so on.....just keep repeating

The quickest and easiest way would be to put them in egg carton bottoms and just put a block of wood underneath one side so as to tip it, then when time to turn, just remove block of wood and put it under other side.

KristenH,

Please don't think I am off my rocker, but do I put them with the large end down and the pointed end up? Any problems when they hatch? How thick of a board? I really appreciate your help.

I turn mine by hand too 3 times a day.....X on one side 0 on the other...mine just lay down in the bator, just like under a hen, I find this works best for me and my incubator ...if your going to do what Kristen says Big end up and Pointy end in the carton...I've never hatched eggs this way myself..
