Turning Incubator instead of eggs?

I cannot answer on logistics as to which side is better to turn the eggs on..mine are positioned vertically where the roundest portion (bottom) of the eggs is down in the carton, and point facing upward.

Notice my pics where you see that I start with the eggs at an incline in my incubator. When I prop one side, the angle that the eggs are rotated is actually beyond 45-degrees and probably closer to 70-degrees.

How can your turn your incubator if there is water in the bottom? I was just thinking I would not be able to do this. Water would be all over the incubator and possible get on the eggs.

So you all agree that incubating eggs in the carton instead on laying on their sides in the bator is a good way to go? I have 24 eggs in there now and when I turn them they roll all over. The carton method makes sense they are in the same position they would be if in a turner. Should I cut holes in the bottom of each cup in the carton?

I am using the 'dry-incubation' method (see how to's) - but still, my eggs are elevated above the floor of the foam cooler using a piece of hardware cloth to prop the egg carton up. Lastly, I have a sponge under the carton to soak up any water (again, I am using the dry method which suggests low humidity levels for most of the incubation period. I will take a picture!

I've always read to have points down, round ends at the top- as this is normally where the air sacs are.

I didn't and they were just fine. I might add that I used a carton that the eggs were slightly loose in, not too loose though, so there would be air flow around them.
