Turns out I have digestive intolerance to duck eggs

I too have an intolerance/allergy to duck eggs. I noticed after eating them boiled for a few days for breakfast. At first I just had a stomach ache then after a few days it turned into vomiting. I stopped eating them for a week. My symptoms went away. Today I tried them scrambled with ham, after 30 minutes I was vomiting again. No more duck eggs for me....
Just hope I can still eat my chicken's eggs. Will try those next week and post an update.

Time for an update. I have been carefully testing duck eggs in various forms for the past few months and am back to eating them about every other day. My reaction is definitely caused by the white. I can eat yolks in any form with no reaction. White, even when firm, can cause me serious upset. I've found that baked goods are no problem and hard boiled eggs are no problem. The hardest thing to work out was scrambled eggs (which is, of course, how I prefer to eat them). Even scrambled to a very firm state, I found that my odds were about 50/50 of getting sick. However, scrambling two eggs to just underdone and then microwaving for 60 seconds works every time. The result is a pretty well done egg, but I really don't mind that.

We've been making a lot of fritattas, as that appears to be a very safe dish.

Anyway, if any if you suffer from similar symptoms, try cooking the eggs very thoroughly and you may find that it makes the difference.

So you can or can’t eat the whites with the yolk of a hard boiled egg? I got confused in the above post, because you said whites when even firm can cause a problem. But then you said you could eat hard boiled eggs with no problem. I only ask, just in case in the future I have the same problem. Lol, I won’t know until my ducks start laying.
I typically eat chicken eggs hard boiled due to calories, so if hardboiled ducks eggs work even with intolerance, that would be awesome.

I’m so frustrated as I also developed an intolerance to the duck eggs. I did not have any issues at the begging, now I cannot eat them as I get sick. I have high cholesterol, so this could be what triggers the nausea, stomachache. The chicken eggs are not so rich, so I don’t have any issues. I love my ducks, so I will keep raising them for the rest of the family that can eat their eggs!

Sorry to read that. Do you have a garden? Duck poo-water and poo-straw make the best fertilizer which is fairly balanced and doesn’t have to be composter completely down to use since it’s not as hot as chicken pop. So if you have a garden they can still earn their keep.

Yes, i used a pump and house to water my trees and my husband can still eating eggs. I will keep the ducks no matter what as I really enjoy raising them😉. It’s just sad that I cannot enjoy their eggs.

It's not good to eat any foods every day, and most people become allergic to foods because they have a compromised gut lining.

Fermented foods are a great way to heal your gut lining and not develop additional allergies to other foods.

That’s brilliant. I have the same intolerance to eggs, chicken or duck. It’s been years since I’ve had an egg, the stomach pain is so bad. I’ll try your trick.
