TV Remote Control - Who Is In Charge?

I was watching tv with my GF tonight and realized how much I appreciate that she gives me complete control over the TV remote.

... and it's even extra loving of her since I tend to pause the TV more than she probably likes

So, this got me to wondering: Who controls the TV in your relationship? Was it easy and natural (like it was for me and my GF) or did it take some "negotiation"?

I have to hide the remote so the cat doesn't walk on it and change channels. Or turn on the closed captioning.

BTW, when there were two people living here, we each had our own TV. No squabbles at all.

College student living at home here. Also an only child. We have tv but I almost never watch it. But because of that if ever actually ask to watch something the remote is handed over without question. Unless football or nascar is on LOL!
Mom and dad have been married for 30 years and still fight over the remote constantly. Mom usually wins though and dad will put earbuds in and will listen to an audiobook on his phone.
Mom can’t understand why me and dad are sick of Star Trek reruns. To give you an idea. I had seen every episode from the 5 major series at least 2x before I was 14. That’s around 700 episodes!

I rarely even touch the remote. I want to see the local news/weather in the morning, at 6 pm, and the rest of it doesn't matter much to me.

In the morning, after DH goes to work, I turn the TV on and off with... the BUTTON on the TV!!

I miss rotary phones... sigh. And wind up alarm clocks.

I like to think of cursive as a secret code that none of the young folks will be able to decipher in a few years. I was talking to a local store MANAGER who admitted he couldn't even sign his name in cursive!

And, I still have a couple of wind-up alarm clocks!!
