don't mind my rabbit in it right now lol. he's an indoor bunny and we're just giving him something to run around in before the chickens come. I do plan on removing the rabbit bedding to add sand and then making a run with 2x4's and hardware cloth

Is it outside? If so, you may want to put a roof on it to prevent predators from entering and to prevent your flock from flying out. Other than that it looks great!

Does your meter reader have to come all the way to the meter to read it?
Mine does and my dogs give her quite a fright every now and then.

Do you have any predators in your area?
Roof for the run?
Chickens can jump rather high. Mine used to end up on top of their coop until I added boards to close it in all the way to the roof of the run. Kind of a pain to get them down since I am only 5'3 and the coop is 6' tall and 5' to the back of it.
Would be more difficult if they were all the way out of the run I think.

on the run or the coop? the coop has a roof it is just hinged and lifted up in the picture. if the run is what you're talking about, then yes I do still plan on adding a roof. I'm gonna buy some of those roofing panels from Home Depot and staple them down. I just haven't got around to it yet. :)

Good to hear. I would hate to have to chase an escaped hen all over the place. May be funny to watch but not so fun to do. Coop looks good.
Maybe a window that you can open for ventilation?

yeah that would not be fun at all! & for the window, the coop is only about 2 ft tall. so I don't want to make a window that will create a breeze and make them too cold in our Ohio winter. what I might do, is drill a few 1 inch circular holes at the top of the coop. would that work?

I think I will do the circular holes with hardware cloth over them for ventilation. I have just been really worrying about winter time because the coop is only plywood and something it gets VERY cold and windy here and where my coop is at it is under trees so that will help but it is also at the back of the property where it drains to. so that's also another issue for summer time. I can't decide what to put in the run.
