Twin day...SO NERVOUS!

I just wish I could see inside that egg! I can hear peeping and that egg has been rocking all day... But still no pip. I have 3 others pipped now but no zips:) I just hope the twins aren't gonna get all screwed up trying to get out in the middle of the night. Guess I will set my clock for every hour to get up and check on them.

That's what I'd do..it would have already drove me crazy..I would have already made a safety hole and checked their membrane..lol..of course I've never been good about being "hands off"..
I really hope they both make it..I always thought twin chicks were the coolest..I mean I guess anything (like horses) that's not supposed to ever be twins is special but there just something extra special about the chicks ♡♡

I am with you on this one. I am hands on kind of chick keeper. I thought that "all" twin chicks one is positioned to pip on the small end. That's what would drive me crazy not knowing if it needed air. I would have to check for the break LOL

Id be a nervous wreck for sure..if I got any sleep, it'd be with my head on the hatcher..But yeah I figure they're like human twins..one normal, one breech..

Oh I hope they're doing okay ♡

Well it's still wobbling but I haven't made a safety hole. Should I? At the big end of the egg? The other three puppets are chirping away but not zipping because they know I'm going to bed.

I'm too nervous for this, will have to pop back now and then, with one eye closed until an outcome is declared.

So I slept for a couple of hours hoping to find at least one chick running around in the bator. Well....I could tell by the very faint peeps still that they were still working on it.
I was right...except now there are 7 out of 12 eggs pipped and the twin egg isn't one of them. I'm almost positive the second twin egg wasn't alive anymore at lockdown, but I couldn't be sure so I put it in there anyways. The humidity had dropped to 60 but I've got it back up to 75 now. It was only down for a couple of hours and since I did dry incubation at about 35, I'm not worried about that. The membranes of the ones that are starting to zip are a nice white too. One is about halfway around but has taken a little break I think:) I see his beak peep out every minute or so, but he must be resting. Two more have just started to zip a little too. I'm so worried about those twins....lol. I've decided that I will put a safety hole in if I don't see any action by 8 am. That will have been 24 hours since the first egg pipped yesterday. For those more experienced in safety holes, do you think this would be a good idea? I'm just not wanting to open that bator with so many eggs pipped and zipping. Looks like it gonna be another loooong day here at the Disney Chicks Castle! I just need them hatched by 7 am tomorrow when my 2 year old and 6 month old granddaughters come for the day. I babysit them during the week but took the last two days off knowing for sure we would have chicks before Friday:)

The first cream legbar has arrived and a maran is almost out. I candled the twin egg and they are still moving. It seems like there is a lot of space left at the small end of the egg. It's a light blue egg and easy to see through. I didn't make a hole in the top because I'm worried these babies just aren't ready. Air cell looks great and has grown since I checked it Tuesday.
