Twin egg? [with scary egg photo]

So, our 17 week olds started to lay... And this is one of the eggs (we already had one of the teeny eggs as well as a giant egg), but I have to say this takes the cake:

Sure enough, it is a double yolker !

Work with chickens long enough and you'll see all sorts of things. It's not that common but it does happen that you will get what appears to be 2 eggs fused together and it will generally be a double yolker - and on very rare occassions they can be triple yolkers.

I've been getting double-yolked quail eggs from one of my Coturnix recently...they're almost as big as a bantam egg.
