twisted neck

yes you can do that... yes I mean cooked oatmeal (in water..I usually put in a cup in the microwave >of course you can also give them plain uncooked but if you mix the powdered vit, into the dry feed it will got lost in the powdered wastage and that is a great pity so that is why I mix my vitamins and supplements into the cooked oatmeal (just a small amount) and mix that in with half of what I estimate their daily portion of feed to be and give this in the morning... I always give fresh feed in the afternoon and just mix that (dry) with what ever is left of the oatmeal/feed mix from the morning (little wastage as the oatmeal will make it clump together)... the birds are happy with a new zest to eat as it is different then in texture and stuff and they chickens will welcome a "change"...
now this is just in general, for your bird that is ill, I would mix it up into a very small portion (say a couple tablespoons) and ensure she eats this first (sick birds unfortunately eat way less quantity)... the vitE/Selenium tabs and POLYVISOL just administer this careful into beak allowing her to swallow on own (prick the tab open and squeeze out the contents). You must be patient as any condition with this neck symptom usually takes quite a while to get over...sometimes weeks... so dont be dismayed when her progress seems slow.

Thanks everyone. I'm now adding the suppliments to the girls feed once a day in the oatmeal and mixing it in. They have always gotten table scraps (leftovers), fruit, bread, rice, eggs, meat..etc. I hope this never happens again.

be careful with table scraps (salt content...birds are VERY sensitive to salt...and when they are eating table scraps they are not eating their feed ... anything uneaten needs to be removed as birds can also get food poisoning from any forgotten bits)

Is that right? I never thought about food poisoning!? Though I am very careful not to give them things with excess salt (no salt on rice or veggies in our house, unless it's at the plate. Usually they do eat all scraps put out, but I'll have to keep watch for left over scraps. The only thing I've ever seen them leave some of is bread. And it simply get's hard as a rock. They never get enough scraps to prevent them from eating their feed, since there are 8 of them and only 3 of us. But thanks so much for the advice. I'll keep an eye on scraps and I've just given them their second serving of vitamin enriched oatmeal! They love it!!
