Ok, this is the third time I've tried posting this, so here goes, but this time I will skip the picture, to see if I can post this... I have a two week old chick that has a twisted primary feather on her left wing. It is shaped like an S. She also has some small feathers on her right wing that are twisted. I know she will molt these out in a couple months, but I'm concerned that her adult feathers may come in crooked as well. Does anyone have experience with this? I'm concerned that when she preens she will break a feather and bleed to death if I'm not around to catch it...

Here is a picture of that wing.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, she's a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte that I bought from a local breeder, but she bought her breeding stock from Murray Mcmurry. So in other words, she's hatchery stock... But a very sweet girl, and I'm hoping this issue doesn't cause her any problems.

Hi,
I had a twisted feather show up on several of my Light Sussex out of one particular mating.
Culled from the breeding program. Doing an inbreeding this season to see if it shows up again.
Anyway, subsequently we had a lively illustrated discussion on another BYC thread with experienced
breeders about the twisted wing subject. Here's the ref. if you want to check it out:
