Hi again. My first baby chicks, purchased from a local feed barn, was of six chicks. 2 BR, 2 RR, and 2 BSL. So with the help of a couple people on this wonderful site I found out my suspicions were correct that one of my BR is a rooster. Not happy, but ok. Now, I’m wondering if the other is as well. Is it true that if they have any white spot on their head at all, they are a roo? Or can some females have as well. My other is not as aggressive as the larger, confirmed cockere, but still seems to be exhibiting the same behaviors and also has a white spot on (her) head. They are three weeks old yesterday. So if they are both cockerels, will they fight or not be a happy family? I really was hoping to just have egg layers for the first year.. Thanks for any help.

My Barred Rock pullet had a large head spot that extended to her neck. The cockerel I lost had a head spot that was barely visible.

Ya, sorry, it was the one in front. But I think you are right, I see her longer tail feathers coming in all of a sudden too. Thanks for the help!
You're welcome.
Would like to see them when they're older? Barred Rocks are such neat birds.
