Yes, he was x-rayd and they're both broken right above the ankle

Pretty much exactly! One leg is much worse off because his nestmates getting at the swelling and pecking it open, but otherwise it's two, clean, complete, closed fractures. Both set in place, but the hard thing has been keeping him still so they heal and finding a way to get him able to feed and water himself.

sounds like your little chick is a fighter! i would try to splint the legs with a popsicle stick or q-tip, and then make a chick chair but make it out of a taller container so the legs don't touch the ground that much.

I've done single chick raising = mirror, heat, cozy stuffed animal or feather duster (although I've also read where it's not advised, chicks get tangled in the feathers)/

To splint a leg use padding first, then something stiff like popsicle sticks or the QTips, and then strips of vet wrap from a farm store or cohesive bandage from a first aid aisle at Walmart. Here is a video and there are others:

Check the circulation after splinting to make sure that vet wrap or tape is not too tight.
