I have two Turkeys. Only two. Both are bronze.
I found a turkey egg in the woodline where she nests. There are NO other turkeys anywhere near me.
Her egg hatched today - poult is white.
I’m extremely confused.

Ideas?

I believe its hers, is she accepting it? Quite often chicks aren't the same color as their mother or breed until they grow in their adults feathers. That's just the color most poults are after hatching, as long as she isnt pecking at it and taking care of it, it will fine.:D

Cute poult by the way:love are there any others, or any other eggs?

She doesn’t ever brood & didn’t lay any again for another month; she just started up again two days ago.
We labeled it and put it in the incubator.
It’s hatching with some Royal Palms & Duckling eggs I ordered. However, there’s no way I could have mislabeled it - this was her first egg. I coddled and labeled it right away & I watched it hatch.

You have a Bronze tom but while your hen has some bronze traits, I do not believe she is a pure bronze.

It is possible for a pair of colored turkeys to produce a white turkey if both parents carry the recessive white (c) gene.

Without seeing better pics of the poult once it is dry and fluffy including a photo looking straight down on its back it is not possible to know if it is a white poult. There are a number of white looking poults (including Royal Palms) that grow into other colors as they mature.

So I am fairly certain she is a Chocolate Dapple.
I researched her genetics and her color appearance and a chocolate Dapple and bronze can make a Chocolate Palm. Right now she’s identical to my royal palm Poult.

This is my hen.
She’s still laying 4 eggs a week in this freezing weather. Crazy girl!

When will their colors start to change?
It depends on the individual poult. Some are slower at their color change than others. I have had Royal Palms that started getting black highlights at one week old and others that did not get their color changes until 4 to 6 weeks old.
