Hi! I'm really looking into getting two buffs and a polish, but I'm worried that they may not get along? I've read that Polishes tend to peck a bit and that buffs may get picked on by other breeds. Any thoughts? If Polishes don't work out, what's another interesting looking breed with a sweet personality --More for a pet than for the eggs.

I have four BOs and three Polish together in my mixed flock. Personality, I've found, varies more by bird. Breeds exhibit characteristics as a whole, but individuals can be different. My BOs are calm and laid back, but they're by no means at the bottom of the pecking order. A thing to consider about Polish, their crests limit their eyesight considerably. This can make them (especially ones with crests that are pretty big) more susceptible to predators and make them seem a little uncoordinated and jumpy. They are both good and beautiful breeds to own.
