breast bone prominant . one is pecking water and not drinking. I believe there is some kind of growth in its mouth/throat. these are 3-5 year old. fed flock raiser BOS and scratch. sometimes free ranged and given vitamins and electrolytes regularly

Can you get some photos of the birds and the inside of their beaks? You mention a growth inside the beak?

Do an onsite search on 'canker' and see if that is what you are dealing with.

I looked at photos of cankers and that is exactly what it looks like.
QUESTION. Can I treat my entire flock (18) with the metronidazole used for fish? maybe in the water? I intend to bleach everything. I think there are some places in my chicken yard that I cannot get to. there may be standing water there. I change the water pretty much every day. but I do not bleach the container regularly

Treat only the bird(s) that show symptoms with the Metronidazole.
You can add Acidified copper sulfate to the flock's water to help prevent/contain the Canker. Do this for 3 days each month. Canker is contagious and birds will be carriers for life.

wooo. for life. I bought something for fish called MetroPlex. Metronidazole 70%-inactive 30%

160mg/10 gal water FOR FISH. Now... how much for one chicken. ?
I mashed scrambled egg, wet catfood and a 16th of tsp of the above . the chicken is obviously starved but having trouble swallowing. I also put vitamin and electrolyte water with the food.

How much of the acidified copper sulfate per 2 gal waterer?
