Hi Everyone, please help me, I found one of my Faverolle chicks dead this morning, the only thing I could find wrong was a tiny amount of red blood around her vent. No damage to the vent though, and the vent area was otherwise clean and dry. Now, a few minutes ago I found another one that was in the corner all sleepy, and I picked it up and brought it in. I couldn't find anything wrong with this one either, until I looked at my hand and saw a tiny smear of clotted blood. I carried him inro the bathroom, and put him down and he started seizing. I picked him up and watery blood was dripping from his vent and he died in my hands...
1. Salmon Faverolle almost 4wks
2. Described above
3. Sudden, see above
4. Just these two so far
5. Blood coming from vent, no signs of trauma
6. They were let out with the older chicks yesterday, their first day outside.
7. Eating and drinking normal I think
8. Poops have been normal, no messy bums
9. None
10. I need to know if this is a disease, or if they may have eaten something, so I can save the rest of them, and protect the rest of my flock.
11. I can take one if somone wants one...
12. They are housed in a shed, wood floors, on pine shavings. There is an adjoining pen of older chicks, and some adults. And my adult birds come into that building alot too. ( None of my other birds are sick.)
