Im a little worried that my girls have been laying for way too long. I have a Pekin and a Muskovy both on nests. I checked all of their eggs and all of the Muscovys look to be fertile, about half of the Pekin's were bad. I removed the bad eggs. My best guess is the Pekin started her nest around the middle of March and the Muscovy around the first week of March (I didnt write it down... grrr). We've had some cold temps lately so I worry that the eggs have slowed down because of it. Momma Muscovy is seriously dedicated, momma Pekin would rather leave her nest alone so she's in the coop by herself.
Any advice on either would be helpful... I THINK the eggs that are now in each of the nests are fertile. How long should I give them before I figure they arent gonna hatch? Or am I just being impatient?
