Ok so I was just putting up my little flock of 5 when I looked and next to their food were 6 eggs! There were two eggs yesterday and one was laid there so I know that it wasn't from yesterday. The hen who laid them is my SWEET white leghorn, Meggy. I have a barred rock, two ameraucanas, a buff orpington, and Meggy.

How many hours was it between the times when you looked at the place where they lay eggs?

I checked at 7:30 am went to school, and 7:00 pm.

Sorry about the 23 hours thing

The world record for laying eggs was 371 eggs in 364 days. And that record was set by a White Leghorn, of course.

It is easily possible that your White Leghorn laid 2 eggs within 23 hours.

If you mean 11 1/2 hours, then I can't explain that.

Are you sure that there isn't another possibility besides the White Leghorn laying 2 eggs within 11 1/2 hours?

No way. Only white layer. It can't be anyone else's hen because nobody owns chickens around here.

If your Leghorn is the only hen you have that lays white eggs, that narrows down the possibilities.

Maybe it happens sometimes. But 2 eggs from one hen within 11 1/2 hours is impressive.

How old is your White Leghorn?

She hatched on the thirteenth of April, this past April.
