Yesterday my sweet blue cochin Kiwi (below, about 6 months old) laid her first egg after squatting for a good week - yay!
It was perfect, pale beige and yes on the small side but still, a beauty!
On the other hand, my sweet little silkie Angel also laid her first egg today, however she suffered a prolapsed uterus, I had to remove the egg by making an incision in the membrane holding the egg prisoner halfway out of her body (she was in pain and bleeding
), it was a terrible ordeal and it's not over... I have no idea if she will be ok or will have to be put to sleep... she's resting crated in the bathroom right now, her insides are still bulging out of her vent - poor Angel... it's so not fair. She needs your prayers for recovery, people... please!!
