You may want to update your profile with your location, gives us insight at to what kind of climate you're having to deal with, time zone, supply availability and predator possibilities.

If possible put a secure & permanent top to the kennel. Add some roosts; tree branches or even a trunk. Depending on your location & weather conditions you may want to weather proof the "weather side" of the kennel. @drumstick diva recommended attach some hardware cloth on the lower half, depending on your location & kinds of predators you have to deal with, I'd wrap the whole thing, or the bottom half they go with chicken wire the rest of the way up, secure with zip ties (fast & easy).

The "house" that you provided for them works for a nest box but not a coop. Again depending on your location, maybe they won't need one but they need more roosting perches. Living were I do, only rain to worry about, not having a predator situation like you all do, my set up is similar to yours. 8 x 12 x 7 Chicken House, open air & wrapped in chicken wire, plastic dog house for a nest box with several perches plus my yard is fenced ... I limit myself to 4 girls.

I have learned from several years on BYC that raccoons do have opposable thumbs. Not having examined any of the raccoons in the area, I believe this to be true.

You all made me curious about raccoon "thumbs" (or not). Looked up a few references and this is the easiest to read info:
"The raccoon does not have opposable thumbs, and in fact, their front paws do not look human, or even primate. They are similar in shape to a weasel or ferret paw, but there is no webbing between the front toes at all, giving the digits the look of fingers.

The "pinkie" finger and "thumb" are offset from the middle three digits and can come together across the middle of the palm allowing the raccoon to grasp things and manipulate items with reasonable strength and extreme dexterity.

Raccoons have been know to unscrew jars, undo locks and untie knots. The combination of bright mind and dexterous paws is highly effective and the raccoon has a reputation as a master thief and garbage-can ransacker."
