Hi There!
I have four chickens in this one coop in my yard (one rooster three hens). Just recently my 13 month old Welsummer decided to go broody, she's been siting on fertile eggs for about 15 days now. This evening when I went to close up the chickens my two wellies were both in the same nesting box together. This seems very odd to me, is it? No, the nesting boxes are not higher then the roosts. May I add, that every night since 11/8 the broody hen, Pansy, has been sleeping in the nesting box. But why would the other wellie, Poppy (also 13 months), suddenly decide to sleep in there too? I'm sure that it is very unlikely for both of them to go broody at the same time, especially when they are both a breed that typically doesn't go broody. So my question, why were they both sleeping in the nesting box together? Should I be concerned?
Thank you!
