I have a cattle panel hoop coop (pics here). I would like to build a second one. Due to space constraints, they would need to be side-by-side, like this shape: nn
Out of frugality and laziness, I might like to have them share the center wall, so they look like this: m

Are there any downsides to having two hoop coops share a sidewall? The main issue I can think of is drainage, but maybe I could place a gutter down the middle.

I would think the one you attach midway up your existing coop (would be shaped like a mirrored r) wouldn’t have the integral structural resilience given by the arch shape.

I would revert to putting two side by side like your n n example.

This is what AI generated (I believe this is what @azygous is suggesting)

That got me thinking, what if I just replace one of the hoop coops with a vertical wall? Like, t-posts and cattle panels, standing lengthwise as they are meant to be used. With the same "roof", so it looks like a lean-to. I could not get AI to generate this image, but hopefully my description is clear enough.

Thoughts?

Don't you just love to experience the evolution of an idea? It pays not to be in a rush, and let the ideas unfold until you reach that point of inevitability.

What I was suggesting is not a flat joiner, but another arch at the peak, extending up from the outside walls. It would shed rain a lot more effectively than the flat roof AI (not the smartest brain in the universe despite what we've been told) came up with.
