I have a cockeral that I hatched out this year, and he literally has a different color on each leg, one yellow, and one green. I was just wondering if it is possible to duplicate this, or is it just a luck of the draw kind of thing?

I have seen a situation in pigeons where an egg is inadvertently fertilized by two sperm. This results in a pigeon with different colors on each side of their body. There is a term for this condition which presently eludes me :old. I wonder if the same situation exists in chickens ? I doubt that this is a heritable characteristic. Can you post a picture ?

What breed is this?

Many of the green legged chickens will have some yellow on part of their leg(s). I have a splash Silverudd's Blue pullet that has half the length of two toes on her right foot bright yellow, but the rest of her legs are intensely green. It's not how it's supposed to be, but if that's her only fault I'm OK with it. With one leg green and one leg yellow, this is probably just an unusual expression of the (inappropriate) yellow portion of green legs, like when you see a black and white cat that is almost solid black on the one side and solid white on the other side. It's still a black and white cat, just one with a unique pattern. If you like this feature, you can try to breed the parents again and see if this is repeated, or you can try to breed him back to his mother and various other hens and see what he produces. It's probably just a one-of-a-kind situation, but worth a try to recreate if you like it.
