Two male quail and one female taking care of eggs together?

Yes, that is wrong. In bobwhite quail I think both parents sit. In button quail only the female sits, but the male will help rear the chicks. In coturnix quail, the females become aggressive towards the male once they become broody and the male takes no part in rearing the chicks.

If this experiment really does turn out to have the result of at least one new chick, it should be hatching anytime soon. Today is the 17th day past the first egg in the nest that was laid. Although I'm really not expecting any to hatch, it's good to be optimistic so I'll see how this goes.
