Hi I'm new. I have about 50 Pekin ducks. In pens right now are two mammas. One has 11 ducklings and the other has 8. Born about 2 weeks ago. I decided to let them out to go swimming in the river we live on and the two mom as about killed each other. I rangled them back into their pens but my question is how am I ever going to let them out together!
If they were mine, I would wait until the ducklings are older so that they do not inadvertently get hurt and then let the hens work things out. The pecking order is never a gentle thing, but is integral to flock function.
