Hi all. I need a little guidance. We have a single healthy three year old chicken in our suburban yard after losing her pal to an injury. My husband brought home 2 pullets yesterday. They sounded a little odd (gargly) last night, and today, I noticed when we were putting them in a "play" area that one of them had a bubbly nose. I think they both have an upper respiratory infection. They smell bad, although I don't know if it is their mucus or just bad hygiene where my husband got them.
They are segregated from our older girl, although I am a little nervous. I haven't called the farmer we got them from yet to see if he has started to notice something. To be fair, he might not have noticed yet. Any suggestions on how to start narrowing things down? We know of a very pricey vet for "exotics" but not farm vets here. There is a tractor supply fairly close, so I can probably get some antibiotics. I assume that they haven't been vaccinated.
