Two new pullets, one has a respiratory infection

I did not know that. I knew they'd do it for avian influenza and pullorum and salmonella, but I didn't know they also did it for mycoplasma. I don't go to that vet anymore anyway; he jumped to it being myciplasma over anything, including a pecked eye, which is the bird I mentioned that I asked about testing.
Lab testing varies from state to state, but if you ask based on suspicion of what may be wrong, they will test for it. If charged a fee, it would be minimal compared to what most vets would charge. A good avian vet is hard to find. That's why many poultry keepers have to do their own research. Even then, it is difficult to diagnose certain diseases which have similar symptoms. If I use a certain medication, and I don't see positive results in a couple days, I try something else. If it looks like something that could be viral, I consult with the local lab.
