NewOh, thank you so much for reply! im so new to this! :) we got them March 20th and were almost a week old, sooooo.... 7 weeks

Unfortunately when dealing with Silkies sexing is very hard till they are two to four months old. The Walnut crest is usually bigger on the male but untill they are at least two months old guessing is a toss up. At four months old you usually know because a cockeral will usually start crowing by then and his stature is mutch straighter and upright then a pullets. His crest is also thicker and wider. The males start getting strands of feathers coming off his crest and longer tail feathers then a hen. So unless they are vent sexed after they hatch there is no way to tell maie from female. Most people don't do vent sexing.

I actually don't have any ducks. (wish I did). So maybe post your questions in the 'Ducks' forum?

Note: if you want to message someone, just hit 'Inbox' up by your alert box. Then click 'Start a new conversation'. Type in the persons name, write your note, and hit 'Start'.

Silkies are very difficult to sex before 4-5 mos. of age and sometimes NOT till they crow or lay eggs. At 3 mos. you may see some change in comb from earlier photos.
