At which point do racoons try to dig? This guy did not try to dig.

And has anyone had issues with weasels in central North Carolina?

I haven't seen any weasels around here. I've dealt with opossums, raccoons, a mole(I dont think it will mess with the chickens, just makes a mess of the yard, but I will feel sorry for it if it happens to pop up in their area...) and occasionally hunting dogs running through the yard. So far the opossums and raccoons seem more interested in destroying my trash can than the giant chicken house.

we have weasels in western N.C. just make sure coop and run is very secure, nice coop too

As for digging, can't really say. I know I have a few around my coop (actually were starting to live in my shed - I have a separate shed that I keep the feed, bicycles, etc. in) - but they haven't dug or gotten into the coop or run (yet - nothing is ever "never" when it comes to chickens )

i am not sure about racoons digging but i will say i had one to climb up the eve of my barn and kill several 4 mont h old chicks before i figured out what it was. and by the way very nice looking coop
