I have a chicken tractor that we have divided into two. THe one side has two roos (BO and Speckled Sussex) and the other has three hens of the same two breeds. Everything seems to be lovely and peaceful right now (just over a week) and I am wondering if this is normal or just the calm before the storm.
We had the tractor all roos and then we slaughtered 4 and divided it and added the hens all on the same day. We figured the big changes may help all to settle well. So far it seems to be working great. We are going to let them cohabit once the hens have been laying for about 6 weeks. THought we would put the same breeds together for a day and then swap them back into the separate sections for the rest of the week. What do you think?
