Two Roosters? Please help :(

Hi everyone. I need some help identifying 1 of 2 chickens I currently have. They are both about 7 to 8 months old. The brown one is a Rhode Island Red Rooster cockrel but I am having some reservations on calling the white one, a Brahma, a rooster. All indications tell me she might be mixed? Compared to how other brahmas look? And she is indeed a she? Any and all help would be helpful. I am new to the BYC scene and hope to learn from y'all. Thank you.

The brown one has started to crow for awhile now. The white one is very chill. They grew up together. If that helps in any way.

Ok the fact that the Brahma is not crowing by 7-8 months is suspect for rooster. The crowing is the telltale sign. Roosters usually crow by 2-4 months of age. Six months tops. That is to say if you can tell who is or is not crowing.

(TT..TT) My first steps into backyard egg farming...what a blow....sigh...

Cheer up! It has happened to others and this is why I ordered from a hatchery females only with very little chance of sexing errors. I also get my money back if they are wrong. So far they have not been wrong. Good Luck! :)

I spend nearly every day cleaning and feeding. The white one never crowed once. It was always the brown one and he started around the early stage of 3 to 4 months. It's been getting louder and more frequent since. The white one never crows.

Thank you! I'll do that next time!

I do have a seperate bunch of young ones 8 of them to be exact coming up so hopefully...no more roosters haha

Well they will hopefully have hens in there but if you didn’t choose all females only and got straight runs you will most likely get more Roos. :)
