Make sure you quarantine the new birds for about a month before putting in with your current flock. Just in case they have a disease that you don't want spred to your guys.


Yes, I agree, you absolutely should quarantine the new birds in any way you can for at least a month. One bad bird can wipe out an entire flock. Two roo's for even six or seven hens is too much. Ideally there should only be one rooster per 12-20 hens. If you can rehome or cull one, I would. They potentially will fight over the hens and chase the poor girls incessantly. Good luck!

That's a perfect solution. The chicken tractor has a small dog house for a coop so nothing for them to roost on but I think they will be fine. the chickens I'm getting are the same age as mine and there are three of them. Hopefully the roosters will each get three to boss around...LOL
