Both of these hatched yesterday...they are silkies...
One is still laying on its side, but kicking and scooting around, pretty sure its not going to make it, but giving it til tomorrow.

The other, is upright but can't straighten its legs out...like its trying to walk on its knees....its legs are really far apart too. When it kicks its legs, the feet are up by the chicks ears.

They are together in the hatcher and all other chicks have been moved to the brooder.

What can i do for the chick with the bent legs?

Do a search for spraddle leg on here there is some good info that might help the baby that has legs too far apart and trying to walk on its knees.

The other...wish I had a clue to help.

not much luck on my search...this is not typical spraddle leg...the feet are up by the ears, the legs stay bent and don't straighten out...I tried to straighten them, but they were pretty stiff...
I gave poly-vi-sol drops yesterday...tried making a chick ring (a little circle that they sit in for support)...everything is the same this morning... the other one is still laying on its side and kicking occasionally...I will probably have dh put them both out of their misery today.

This will be the first time I have had to do this out of all the chicks I have hatched this year...
