My 4 week old silkie has two toenails growing out of one toe. Is this going to cause an issue as she/he grows?

Here is a picture, kind of hard to see (it's hard to hold a squirming silkie chick and snap a picture of it's toe!!!)

It is a bit hard to see.. Is it able to walk fine? If it is, I would just let it grow out and if it becomes a problem, you can deal with it then.

No problems with walking right now, seems to get along just fine. The two toenails nails are definitely smaller than her regular toenails, so I'm hoping there won't be any issues as she grows!

Hmm.. That's very odd! Maybe she'll just be special like Nemo (from Finding Nemo) ;)

Its very common in Silkies. Sometimes the gene responsible for those extra digits will also express extra nails, whole toes or less than they should have :)

True.

I used to raise large numbers of silkies, and I saw a lot of foot oddities. Sometimes more than 5 toes, and extra nails weren't too uncommon.
