Hello,

My chicks don't always do this, but my husband is concerned that they tend to hold their wings out away from their body. I just think they are looking for an opportunity to fly over the top of the box. If they do this are they too warm? They are not panting or staying away from the light or anything like that. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

They stretch! Wait until they dust bathe, you'll think they are having a seizure.

I think you're onto something..they are probably too warm. Do they have enough space to get away from the heat lamp to a cool spot in the brooder? Also, be sure to provide fresh cool water daily, as they will use this to cool down as well. Sometimes if the water is too close to the lamp, it gets warm so you could check that.
