This morning, I found one of my three 10 day old coturnix chicks dead in the brooder after seeming a little lethargic last night and now a second one is acting slightly off. They were completely fine until now but within a few hours started laying down more and walking around less, appear less interested in food but still eating, fluffed up, and less alert.

I keep them in a 2.5x1ft brooder with paper towel bedding, heat lamp at 85F, room temp water, and on 30% gamebird feed that’s lightly crushed. Its in my bedroom where it is quiet and warm. I did take the pebbles out of chick waterer since they seemed okay with it and the babies haven’t looked wet at all. Might this be an issue? I also added 2 tsp Corid per gal to their water today since I also have adults outside that have had coccidiosis before. Please help! Any suggestions are appreciated!

When young chicks start acting off, I've usually found that they're cold. Try bumping up the thermostat for now to see if they look more comfortable.
