Tylan 200 question

My husband and I just vomited her again. Got some more stuff out. Got some dead maggots out too. I have zero ideas about where these maggots are coming from. We are going to make her vomit a couple more times tonight so the baytril won't stay down.

Quote: I don't think she has botulism... Treatment for it is an anti-toxin, which you don't have. Please do not try one of the "botulism treatments" listed here on BYC as I think it will do more harm than good.

This is a one with botulism:

Ok, well that's good to know. I can't really find any treatments for it except for the anti toxin. I was already doing epsin salts due to her having sour crop. I still haven't given her the Tylan either. Although tomorrow I will do the SC fluids again. That's really all I can do. We just vomited her about 15 minutes ago and got some nasty stuff up, no maggots though. I'm getting concerned due to her coming up on day 3 of no food. Her poop is very watery so I'm thinking at least something is getting through. I put some vitamins and electrolytes and probiotics in her Epsom salt flush tonight. This will be night two of trying to empty her crop.

How many ml's of fluids did you give SC?

-Kathy

Maybe 50 ish. I have an IV catch needle for humans, so I had to improvise. I pocked her then slid the white cath part in and attached the fluid bag. I prefer to normally keep the needle in, but I couldn't attach the bag to the needle, and I didn't have the correct tip on my 60ml syringe. Im not sure if that's too much or too little. I'm sure she needs it though. Poor girl.

How is she today? Got any new poop pictures?

-Kathy
well I checked on her before I went to work. Crop is still full. Her poop is just watery white/ yellow fluid. I'm going to have my husband vomit her this am. I can't have that fluid in her crop, it will just go sour. I'm going to gibe her more SC fluids today around 4. I really have no idea what's going on with her. Maybe she's developed some type of enteritis from the maggots which has completely shut her system down. Allbi can do at this point is give her supportive care.
