My birds have a problem with head shaking (but they do not smell bad like it is coryza), and I have thought it must be mites/lice and tried everything to get rid of them, nothing worked. Now I guess I need to try to solve a respiratory problem with tylan. I have researched it and get so confused? Can the injectable be given to them by just putting it down their throats? What is egg withdrawal on it and does the injectable/soluble work any better? Where is the best place to get it? Thanks so much!

Do you see mites/lice on the birds? Are the birds gasping or coughing? Regarding Tylan 50, injections work faster. I recommend the 1/2 cc shot in the back of the neck under the skin. If it is a large breed over 5 lbs., I give an additional 1/2 cc in the breast muscle. You can give it orally at 1cc down the throat. You can order Tylan 50 online from places like QC Supply or Jeffers, but most feed stores carry it.
