Type of Bulb for Winter Light in the Coop...

It lights my coop up like daylight 100 lumens is extremely bright I have a headlight I use for hunting and I think it is like 40 lumens and I can walk in the woods with ease, you will be surprised how bright it is.

I have two strings of led c9 christmas lights in my 8x12 coop. I was worried that it would not be bright enough, but the ladies were up running around at 6 when I checked on them. It was still too dark for them to want to venture outside, but they were happy hanging out indoors. I'm hoping this will kick start the egg laying business.

How many days of increased light do you need before you should expect to see increased production? This is after production already dropped off this fall.

They need between 12&15 hours of daylight to keep things rolling, I have the light come on 2 hours before daylight and it seems to be working so far. Not sure on how many days but mine will be on until spring.

Last winter I housed 6 sex link chickens with no heat or light. They were also almost 3 years old I might add. I was averaging about 4 eggs a day. They were subject to -40º some days through the winter. Imagine what my production would have been if I had added light.
