Typical Broody Behavior?

Yup, she's totally broody, flat as a pancake on her "eggs" (two infertile eggs and 3 golf balls) so I'm picking her up some Wheaton and BC Maran's eggs this weekend. Though, I should be careful what I wish for...her sister and my only other hen that is currently laying is now trying to decide if she wants to keep her sister company, cause now she's not leaving her nest either! A dozen chickens and I'm going to be BUYING eggs for the first time in ages, arrrrg!! Anybody in WNC looking for a broody to stick some eggs under, I don't want to break the broodies, but I don't need more chicks!!

Congrats on the broody!

Thank you!! They're my first broodies, I'm so excited!! I've been telling everyone who will listen and they all just kind of give this look like....uhhh...don't hens just sit on nests and hatch out chicks constantly, like in the cartoons?

They tend to work up to it. My Nugget is on Day 21 tomorrow. She took two solid months of being a crazy demented beach ball before she finally walked into a nest one night at roost time and stayed.
