Just wondering how many here think you can build a house with only U.S. made materials at about the same price ?

No, I would pay it.

My friends log home is all American made. Logs and stones off their own land. Bartered most of the work on it. Side of beef, a hog, cow and calf pair, traded out breeding services on his bull for finish wood work. Traded hay, all kinds of stuff.

I dont think it would cost more. back in Kansas we had Menards , Americas third largest home improvement chain, they would have american made sale quite often. I always saw a variety of roofing, wood, hardware fencing.... made in America. The prices were as good as the other two chains. You just have to look around and find the stuff.

That is helpfull, now if we could just go to lowes an get it as opposed to calling the companys an having stuff shipped special.
Most of those companies will tell you where to get the stuff locally.

How many people buying a new home from a large builder will ask for U.S. made materials ?

Would people prefer to buy from a builder that did use only made in U.S. materials ?
