So I have a 12 week old Golden Campine and also a 12 week old EE. I also have 2 RIR about 6 months old. They have been living together since the babies were about 7 weeks old. I went away for Memorial Weekend and when I came back I noticed that my Campines nice big tail feathers were being plucked! I found a bunch on the coop floor etc. Well yesterday the last one was finally plucked out sometime! Now she looks like her rump is small! I know they will grow back and there isn't any bleeding. She is a happy little chicken and for the most part gets along great with the others. I think it is one of the older RIR Henryetta (Big Mamma for short). I am wondering did they do this because her tail feathers were so much longer then everyone elses? They aren't plucking here anywhere else. Should I really worry or will these feathers grow back and maybe in that time she will be older and they won't bug her? If you didn't know what a campine looked like you would never know they were missing but she used to have such a beautiful tail like a big fan!
I don't know what to do!
